Released Time for Leib Elementary School in its 25th year!
Pennsylvania, along with most other states has “Released Time” laws that allow public school children to be “released” from public school for 36 hours a year for “religious instruction”. School districts do not fund the program and the program is free to families. Parents must sign their children up to attend the program. The local RT program is sponsored by Joy El Ministries. Go to www.joyel.org to find out more about Joy El. They provide the training and material to be taught, all of which is based on the Bible.
A new name for the local Released Time program goes into effect March 2018!!
Bible Adventure (formerly Released Time)
Bible Adventure will start up in September and run through April. RT runs for one hour a week for 36 weeks during the school year. Children 3rd through 6th Grade are walked or transported by trained RT volunteers to and from Leib Elementary School to New Creation. Children learn stories from the Bible to teach them about the world they live in, who God is, how to get along with others, and also various character traits such as respect, honesty, dependability, etc. They learn songs, and meet new friends! All RT volunteers have current clearances. All the Dover elementary schools have RT. There are 27 other school districts in PA that have Released Time.
