Worship Times – We are Going Virtual

WE ARE GOING VIRTUAL!

Proverbs 3 says… Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

The church leadership has decided that we will not be holding in church worship on December  27, and through January.  We will tentatively resume regular services on February 7 subject to circumstances.  For now, services will be conducted virtually and broadcast at 10:30am Sunday morning.

It’s with a trusting, yet heavy heart, that we do so.  It is the culmination of many immediate factors that have influenced our decision.  First, we love each other.  We protect those we love.  While we have been successful in protecting our family, evidenced by the fact that have not spread of COVID -19 through church functions, we can’t deny the increased cases of our church family and York County community.  We are choosing to err on the side of precaution and honor government direction, but more importantly we honor the direction given by United Methodist church leadership in the Susquehanna Conference.

While we will not have in person services, we will allow small groups conducting what we see as essential Kingdom activities including those that add direct relief, human compassion, or meet a physical need.  Ministry leaders will be contacted accordingly.  Our Christmas Day Meal which will go on as planned with take-out and delivery only.

While the celebration of Christmas is a joyous holiday, it typically heightens anxieties for many.  Likewise, today we have the added burden of COVID-19… isolation, suicides, loneliness, physical need, and closed sanctuaries. If you have a special need, please contact the church and we’ll do our best to arrange support for you.

While we won’t all agree on what’s happening, let us remember that God is in control.  It is He we lean on and not our own understanding, thanks be to our great big and perfect God!

Peace be with you all this Advent and Christmas season.
